Teatro Amaya - Madrid (Madrid)
La Rosa del Azafrán
From June 11 to 15
Composed by Jacinto Guerrero, this rural zarzuela is inspired by Lope de Vega's *The Dog in the Manger*. Premiered in 1930, it takes us to La Mancha, where saffron cultivation provides the backdrop for a love story between people of different social classes. Featuring music that evokes popular folklore and a classic plot of romantic entanglements, it is a beloved work and a staple in the zarzuela repertoire.
Duration: 2 hours and 10 minutes (including a 20-minute intermission).
